Friend of the Darby Library Open House

On Saturday, April 24, the Friends of the Darby Library hosted an Open House. The Forest Service was kind enough to rearrange Smokey the Bear’s schedule, so he was able to stop by.
We also had Dick Estler demonstrating fly-tying at the library’s fly-tying desk.

Although we would have loved for more people to be there, we had fun watching the experts work their magic with flies and Smokey gave us all some goodies. We also had door prizes and almost everyone who came to the open house got something to take home.

Make sure to keep an eye on the library’s calendar for any other upcoming events.

I was lucky enough to go to the 2010 Montana Library Association Conference in Bozeman. It was my first time visiting the city of Bozeman and I was really impressed with their new library. If anyone is in the area, they should really stop by and check it out. Besides touring the city’s beautiful library, I also met some great colleagues and hear some amazing speakers. I took home some great ideas that I plan to use here at our library.

Darby Public Library Easter Egg Hunt 2010

Library Board members and staff got to the park early to help the Easter Bunny hide eggs.

After a countdown from ten, the kids took off to find their eggs.

We had quite a crowd

Some of the eggs had a ticket for a special prize inside!
